Wii Pain

First, I love my Wii. Second, I am not in great shape. I know this for sure now.

I found myself sore today, my arms and shoulders the most and a little in my legs. It is from my Wii playing last night. Mostly from Wii Boxing I think. So tonight I am taking a Wii break. If I keep getting a workout from the Wii I will be in shape in no time.

Wii is almost here

Our Wii is waiting for us in the apartment office. Unfortunately my husband did not make it home before the office closed today.

My mom is coming to pick Kaylee up in the morning so I should be able to go and pick it up. By the time the office opens and I get back with it I will probably have enough time to hook it up before I have to go to work. **sigh**

Oh well, there is always this weekend. We are going to try and go to Disney and see Disney all decked out for the holidays. We will have to see how Kaylee feels. She has been a little under the weather these last few days.

I have lots of cool things to look forward too, aside from Kaylee learning to use the bathroom correctly. There is the World of Warcraft expansion coming soon, the BlackBerry 8800, maybe eve OS 4.2 for the 8700 - although by then I might have an 8800. Looks like 2007 is going to be a great year.

Another Day

Well, we are closer to the weekend. And closer to Christmas.

My Wii shows as shipped on the Amazon website and UPS updated to show a delivery date of the 18th. Seems like that is way too long. I am really hoping it gets here sooner, so we can play with it. It was supposed to be here last week.

Kaylee is growing as babies do. I need to get some pictures of her and post them on Flickr.

Rainy Evening

It rained today. Which was fine, only it waited until I went out to lunch with my co-worker, but without my umbrella.

Oh well.

Kaylee is getting bigger, and going through the mommy phase.

My BlackBerry got a case of the Christmas Spirit today and was randomly playing We Wish You A Merry Christmas. Turned out I left the web browser on that tune. Every time I would hang up from a phone call it would break out in Christmas cheer. Kinda creepy until I figured it out :)

Its off

The shuttle lifted off.

That was amazing. I was in Port Canaveral. It was as light as day. The reflection of the launch on the water was amazing.

You could see it for a very long time.

Shuttle liftoff try 2

So here we are waiting to see if the shuttle will go up tonight. First night launch in years.

Looking good so far. We might actually see a night launch.

Scurbbed Shuttle and Life

Well, there was no launch tonight. :(
Maybe Saturday night it will go up. I hope it goes up this weekend, otherwise I will miss it.

World Of Warcraft had another patch. Another round of where were my talent points. I do like the ability to auto loot and auto cast on self. Not sure about much else yet, but I am looking forward to the expansion.

I am very unhappy with Amazon this week. We tried out a digital picture frame from Amazon which did not work, so we returned it. I was impressed with how fast it came, not yet impressed with the return, as it has not posted back to the card we paid with. However, the real problem is not with this order.
We decided to get a Wii, and some bundles became available on amazon on Nov 30th. We ordered one, with a ship date of the 4th or 5th, to be here from the 7th - the 12th. It went into shipping soon status, the available was take out on my card. I get an email late last night saying something has changed. I check online and see the delivery date has changed to a week later. I can not cancel the order, and the only advice from Amazon was refuse the order when it arrives and you will not be billed for return shipping. That doesn't change the fact they have a hold on my funds. And I passed up getting one recently because I thought I would have mine this week. :( Bad Amazon. Not sure I will buy there again.

Kaylee is doing good. She is learning manners and starting to get her numbers. Not counting, but just the words. We have also started in on potty training. This lead to her running around the bathroom tonight with a t-shirt and socks on. She climbed into the bathtub and decided to do her business in there... all over her socks. I guess she saw the dog do this and figured she should too. **sigh** Clearly I have my work cut out for me.

Home from the airport

We just got back from the airport. We picked up mom-in-law, hubby's mom.
She brought a beautiful picture of Kaylee that was taken when we were in iowa.

Busy Busy Busy

Between my day job, my hobbies, and my daughter, I don't have a lot of spare time anymore. Seems like I am always busy with something. There are some pictures of K in her Halloween costume on Flickr.

PocketDay 4.2 is released for the BlackBerry. I am awaiting the 8800 next year to replace my 8700.

Oh, and for FireFox users, 2.0 is awsome :) Download it now if you haven't already.

I am still alive

Life has been busy for me. Went to iowa last week. Had a good time. K loved it too. Kept me real busy.
Hopefully I can post the pics to flickr and get some video on youtube.
Still no BB OS 4.2 for my 8700 :(
Work has been crazy catching up from being gone. We might try to hit Disney this weekend to check out the new Nemo ride.
Also I have been posting at BBHub, you should check it out. Its awsome.
Kaylee is growing up. She understands most things said to her. She is also a copy cat. I have to watch what I say. She knows here eyes, ears, and nose. We are working on mouth and teeth. She still love Seasme Street. Appartently she got herself a giant Elmo today at the Goodwill store where my lil sister is doing her community service. Kaylee pulled him into the cart with her. At least he's too big to get too far with her. The small stuffed Elmo goes everywhere and I end up carring him.
You know your a mom when you are carring Elmo through the airport.

Late at night

K is sleeping. Me and Hubby should be. Hubby is flying to Iowa tomorrow with K. I will be alone until I fly thursday afternoon. Not sure how it will go.
I ate something, which I think was ice cream that has torn up my tummy and I can't come close to sleeping. And sadly its not nerves.
Hubby is watching an old movie. He seems very into it for 1am the night before his trip starts. This will be K's first flight, and I will miss it. I guess that part might bother me a little.
Enough baby.
No new OS for the 8700 BB. Check out my awsome work at bbhub too. :)
I am going to try to sleep now. If I am lucky.

Kaylee can do stairs

I was so impressed tonight. Decieded to wear K out by taking her for a walk to the mailbox. We live on the third floor and towards the back of the complex, so it is a walk, and for her little stride even more so. Up until today she would fall down the steps with me holding on for all I am worth. Tonight she actually walked all the way down, and although I held her hand, she didn't really need my help.
She even holds on to the dogs leash now and walks him to some degree.
On the way back, K walked up the steps by holding on the railing, she did not need my hand at all. And I was right behind her the whole way, just in case, but she did fine. I was impressed, but its also a strange feeling when she doesn't need me to help her do it anymore.
She is growing up. **sigh**

And still no OS 4.2 on Tmo for the 8700. Oh well. Maybe tomorrow. Hopefullly. If the Tmo powers that be take pitty on us lowly 8700 owners. But I have been a longstanding loyal Tmo customer.... so they should.

Still no OS 4.2

Just checked Tmo's site as I was paying my bill. No OS 4.2. We are in late September. I would love to have it before I go to Iowa.

Oh, and Berry Lovers - check this out -

If I haven't mentioned before, I play World of Warcraft with my hubby. Waiting to get a real date for the expansion for WoW. Waiting for the new BB OS. I do not like waiting. :(

Pen Napped By Baby

Kaylee kidnapped my blue light up pen tonight. At least I was able to get it back long enough to remove the ink part. She may be 16 months old, but shee seems to know how to open a pen and which end does the writting. She tries to scribble all over the walls within five seconds of getting it. I had to hid the pen while Dad bounced her on the air mattress. That is not a typo, Kaylee likes to lay on the airmattress and let Dad push down on the other end, bouncing her around.

I am still checking for the new OS 4.2 for the 8700. Checked out the Tmo site tonight. Still not there. **weeping** Maybe tomorrow. Or even worse, it will come in a week and a half when I will be in Iowa.

Anyone else waiting impatiently for OS 4.2 for the 8700? Not to mention trickles of information on the upcoming 8800?

This is Kaylee eating Breakfast this AM. It is from a still digital camera that can record 60s of video. Sorry its not the best quality.

Today

Well, the day is almost done.
Not so sure about the new Pearl. I think even the hubby will wait for the next new Berry.

Kaylee is in love with Seasme Street.... guess it could be worse.

Somber

It's been a long Monday and I am about to head to bed.
I did not have to go to work early, thank heavens, and got to play with Kaylee this morning.

I saw the news story break on CNN this AM about a plane that was diverted due to an abandoned Blackberry, which was apparently later claimed by a woman who left it on an earlier flight. The BB family and services should pay her a visit. How could you lose a BB??!?!?! I always know where mine is. It is easier to keep track of than my 16 month old daughter.
I checked Tmobile for OS 4.2 again today, with no luck. Maybe I should wait until just after midnight, its only a little while away. My eyes are drooping already and I know I will not have time in the morning. Once Kaylee is up the PC is basicly off limits. She likes to try and type too much.

I posted some new pictures of Kaylee on Flickr today for anyone who wants to take a peek. I have some pics I need to pull off another PC and put on this one, but I do not think I will tonight. Got my email up to date, and have to toss some laundry in the dryer. Then I will lay in bed and play Sudoku until I fall asleep.

Long Day in A short Week

Well, at least the weekend is closer. And the storm, florence, looks to be going away from here. Which is all good.

Tuesday, September 05, 2006

End of Today

It was a rough Tuesday, which was more like a Monday. My opener couldn't be at work so I had to open from home and get into work ASAP. Although that did mean I got off early.

I found it amusing today that TD 6 became Tropical Storm Florence, after the last update I read said they did not expect strenghting in the next 24 hours. Maybe I missed one in there.

Here is the latest map:

We shall see what the storm will do. As always for offical details and up to date storm info, www.nhc.noaa.gov

Still getting too much email on my BB.. LOL. Lots of talk with my upoc buddies. And we are all waiting impatiently for the new BB to come out later this month... not to mention the new OS. I should check to see if it is available yet.. nope, no 4.2. Oh well, no time tonight to install it anyhow.

On another note, I discovered this weekend Surface was not renewed. I will never know what happened to them, or what was going on. Makes me really dislike TV execs. They get my interest, peak my interest, and then betray it with cancellations.

Time for bed.

Strange Days

My hubby is having fun playing 20 questions with a website. K is fast asleep. I loaded some new pics of her on flickr tonight. Have more, just have to find time to upload them.
Hubby wanted to play World of Warcraft tonight, so we did.
They are still saying TD 6 will be a tropical storm tomorrow. We shall see if it will happen.
My Blackberry is behaving fine and keeping me up to date on important things like choclate covered ants.
Sadly it also let me know that the Croc Hunter was killed. He had a son about a year and a half older than K. Makes me sad. Although I used to mock him, saying a croc should eat him.
Forgot to look for a new case for the hubby's BB. I am forgetting all on my own. Lol.
Time to try and sleep. Back to work tomorrow.

Back from the Store

Fresh from BJs. Bought lots of fun stuff. My feet are sore.

Here is the latest map on TD6:

Go to www.nhc.noaa.gov for storm details.

Looks like there might be another wave out there that may become TD 7. We sure are picking up speed. And we are supposed to fly to Iowa at the end of the month... **gulp**

Late Late at night

We went to a friend of my husband's today. There was a little girl there about 8 months older than Kaylee, along with 3 older childern. Kaylee was not too sure about the situation at first. But warmed up and played some with the other kids. My hubby played with his friend on the PC. As if that is a big surprise.

We came home, put her to bed and played some World of Warcraft for awhile.

Looks like TD 6 is still only a Depression, but expected to be a named storm tomorrow. Just what we need on a holiday.

Downloading 4INFO on my BB now to see how it works. I have been so busy I have not tired too many programs out on my BB lately. So here goes. Had a few issues after my last OS upgrade (waiting impatiently for 4.2 - and yes, I checked Tmo site today to see if it was there - It is not). I had to redo my Pocket Day Lists and I lost all my RSS feeds. I need to go hunt them down again and save the email this go round.

I am getting very sleepy, should head to bed soon.

11pm map on TD 6:

Tropical Depression 6 is Born

Well its here. Knew it would come at some point. It is forecast to be a Hurricane by Thursday. We shall see where this one goes.....

Check it out from the National Hurricane Center, www.nhc.noaa.gov

If you live where hurricanes come, keep an eye and ear on the situation.

This will be Florence if it gets named.

Sunday Afternoon

We went to a party last night at a friends. Had a pretty good time. Took Kaylee so everyone could meet her. She had a great time.

I have to pause here to comment on what I am seeing outside of my window. I live on the 3rd floor of a somewhat large apartment complex that has two pools. It is cloudy with thunder and lightning outside. However there is a man at the pool, by the office, which should still be open. What is wrong with people? Do they want to get hit?

Kaylee is napping again. She is going non stop. Earlier we took her for a walk to get her good and tired, but couldn't do that again as it is stormy outside. OK, I just lied.... Kaylee is supposed to be napping but the squealling coming from her room betray what is really going on. :)

My husband decided he needs a new case for his 7100t Blackberry last night. The elastic in the sides of the one he has now has streched to the point the BB will just ploop right out. Of course this causes lots of BB misplacement. And he is no where near specific as to what he wants. I know what I want out of a case. He just asks me to find one... **Sigh** I may drag my feet a little as he is considering upgrading to the 8100 when it comes out shortly, then he can get a new case for it. He is always complaining about SureType, but he may not be patient enough to wait for a full keyboard BB to come out like the 8100. It will be an excuse to look at other stuff for my BB. I tend to try and buy more programs that actual stuff for mine. We shall see. :)

Today is Done

I am worn out. Long busy day at work. I picked up Kaylee after work, and she was more tired thatn me. I would not have thought it possible. She fell asleep on the way home, and slept for a few hours, waking up just in time for dinner. This should be no surprise to me at this point. She was cranky, changed her, feed her, and we played for a while. Then back to bed for baby.

Hubby is off tomorrow. He will probably hang around the house and do nothing all day, while I go work another hard day.

On an aside, I am going to have to work on cutting back on the emails I get. I have way too many that come in and with less time in my day to clean them out. It is driving me and my BB crazy. I get a lot of text messages too, but those are from my upoc group, and that is ok. They probably think I have run away in fear or something I respond so little these days.

I should get to bed, hopefully I will have lots of relax time this weekend. I need it. What mom doesn't?

Still alive and power is on

So the center of the storm passed close by. The storm may be getting stronger. I think we will be fine.
Its started raining again. The presure is dropping.
We had one power flicker tonight, and one during the day. I hope it stays calm tonight. I have to be at work very early.

I have to mention my BB text message buddies because they feel unloved. So hi there upoc guys and gals.

I miss Kaylee. I always miss her when she is away. :(

I think I'm going to try and sleep now.

Rain has Picked up

The rain has picked up here. We had, well none... and now we have lots.

I took Kaylee to Mom's as I am supposed to open at work tomorrow. That means she will be with mom for the worst part of the storm. Although the worst part may not be that bad. Apparently there is a possibility it could get stronger once it is back on the water and kick back some roughness on those of us on the coast. Guess we will see later on tonight. It seems to be going slow too, as they like to do. Making us all wait.

When I took Kaylee to Mom's there was not a lot of traffic. There was more when I was coming back home. I was starving so I suggested we go out to eat. It was odd driving around as some places were closed, some were open. Some places were ghost towns, others were busy. Most of the open resturants had cars in the lots. Gas stations were empty. Home Depot had people. Denny's was closed, as was Dairy Queen. Most other places to eat were open. We went to Steak N Shake, where they had storm shutters up. That was a bit different. It made it very dark. The rain started as we were leaving. Went back to Mom's put Kaylee down for a nap and headed home to wait it out.
We shall see what happenes next....

Not much here

Seems like Ernesto pettered out. Had a cloudy rainy day here so far. The storm is now a depression. Looks like it will not pack as much punch as they thought yesterday. We should all be ok and back to normal tomorrow.

Early Wednesday AM

Well, we are alive. Looks wet outside. I just rolled out of bed. Let me shower, get some coca-cola in my system, maybe eat and somewhere after the shower get Kaylee up if she is awake. Then we will see what is going on.

I understand a part of Merritt Island lost power already when a boat mast hit a power line. Apparently most of it is back on, the rest is to be on by 1am.

Be back later...

Tuesday, August 29, 2006

Oops

Well, I hit the button too soon and I am too lazy to edit.

Kaylee actually went down the steps this weeked.... no that is not a typo, I meant down. Her fear of down is over, or at least at bay. Although it was more like falling than walking down the steps she did it. She did not really fall, just to clarify. I held on tight to her the whole time. But she hasn't gotten the art of walking down the stairs down yet, but she is good going up.
She is also saying some words. Strange words... clearly she watches too much Seasme Street as she will say cookie, just like cookie monster. She gets phone, book (her favorate). For button she says but, which is funny. She can say key, no, mama, dada. She calls both her shoes and socks sock no matter how hard I try to break her of the habbit.
OK, enough baby.... let's try something else.
No work for me tomorrow due to one storm floating just south of florida. The schools are closed, we have battened down the hatches. I HATE this part where we sit and wait for the storm to come and get us. Atleast this one should attack during daylight hours. This makes me very happy as I am already afraid of the dark. Having a bad storm at night with the power going out will scare me even worse. And I have a baby to be brave for.

On a Blackberry note..... I can not wait for the new OS 4.2... It can not get here soon enough. And new BBs on the horizen... very interesting. I don't think I will give up my full keypad anytime soon. I like it much better than the SureType.
I still love my new Piel Frama Wallet Case. It is awsome. I love being able to take just it in a pocket instead of a purse filled with junk. The quailty is amazing too.

Ok, off to bed I think... more updates on the effects of Ernesto on Central Florida later. As of today, it seems ok, save for NASA where they can not make up thier minds about what to do with a huge expensive shuttle. Now that they have move it back to the launch pad I am waiting to hear Ernesto suddnely strenghtened into a hurricane. We shall see. :)

August is almost over

Well, this month is almost over. And I have been bad, not posting enough.

Kaylee sick day three - Good news

Well, Kaylee is doing better tonight. I stayed home with her today and I could see the changes as they happened. She went from unhappy I just want to lay and sleep baby, to get into everything I can baby. Glad to see she is doing better and I can get back to work tomorrow. Probably have a lot to catch up on.
The princess ship is still sitting in port. They are trying to figure out what caused it to tip to the side. They are telling the passengers to find thier own way home and keep the reciepts to get thier money back. I dunno about these people, but if I had to come up with the large amount of $$ for a last minute flight I would probably be in trouble. Hope they have credit cards with some available left after thier 9 day cruise.
There was a gas leak in Orlando and a rought storm around here today. Just when my mom was coming to bring me some food and extra meds for Kaylee that we did not actually end up needing.
trying to think if there is anything else.......

Sick kaylee

Well, kaylee is sick. She has a high fever. We went to the dr this afternoon. Ultimatly we have to wait it out and it will probably go away on its own.
Kaylee is so tired and limp a lot of the time. Its so heartbreaking, she wants to just lie on my chest and rest. Which makes me get rather warm as well. She is eating and drinking, so no worries there.
We shall see what happens tomorrow. Hopefully the fever will go away and everything will be better.
She can't tell me what else is bothering her. :(
Ok, enough ranting about sick baby, I need to think about getting some sleep.
There was an issue today with the ship Crown Princess bringing it back to the cape. There were some people taken to the hospital. T is making it into something huge.
The shuttle landed safely this week. YEAH! And now we look to the next launch. Sounds like we might get a lot of launch shows here going forward. Oh and the new tropical storm. Can't forget that, even tho its not bearing down on fl this time. Phew wee.

July Sunday

Well, its Sunday. I have to work :( July is halfway over.
Kaylee it 14 months.
She is keeping us very busy. Mom got a new video camera so I might have to try and get a lil video snippet of K online... Haven't had time to play with it.

Life's keeping me busy

We bought Kaylee a leash and harness this weekend. That should say it all.
I knew I would regret her walking. Just figured it would take longer.
She is also signing more for everything. I couldn't imagine not being able to communicate with her at all. All babies should learn basic signs. It makes life easier.
I am getting really irratated with people parking in our spots in the parking lot. We live in the back on the 3rd floor, so we get the closest parking spots. Which means they are the ones people steal the most. Drives me insane. I have a baby, dog, laptop, diaper bag, and purse that all leaves with me everyday. I hope it doesn't rain until after I leave in the am.
Well I should go to bed so I can get up with kaylee in the am.
Night.

Hubby Thoughts on the Shuttle

My husband tells me all the time the shuttle will never launch on time. The delay helps the local businesses as they make extra $$ the longer everyone hangs around for the launch to happen. I know the hotels charge higher rates when a shuttle is scheduled to launch. It happened to my parents when they first came down here.
Weather or not its true I do not know, just thought I would put his two cents out there :)

No Shuttle Lift Off Today

Well, the Shuttle was scrubbed due to bad weather, which we have a lot of today. Rain, thunder... such fun.
They will try again on Tuesday, which of course is a big holiday and most people are off work. I am sure the traffic around here will be horrid. Don't really care for that part. My parents live closer to the beach than me, so I have to head out that way to see her. It was amazing the slow traffic and back ups that happened Saturday. Did not head out at all today so I am not sure what it was like today.
If anyone out there is not local to FL and wants to get shuttle info, check out www.floridatoday.com They have a link you can get text message updates and there is a countdown blog you can check out as well. You can use Yahoo Alerts to sign up for blog updates to get emails when there are new posts.

Speaking of bad weather, just got a text on my BB that we know have an Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for my area. Glad I don't have to go out for a while. Will have to go out in maybe two hours. Hope the rain is gone then.

Shuttle off on sunday?

Doesn't look good. Another storm is blowing in. Its barly noon and this is the 2nd storm today.

Well, its late, I am tired. Wanted to write something, I have been so busy lately. Check out my Flickr photos to see us at Star Wars Weekends. It was great :)

Also - on pinstacks, a great review I wrote :) about Berry Pix 2.0, which is a great app (and no they are not paying me for this). It makes showing photos via the BB a breeze. It makes me look so cool. Check it out, click on the Pinstack link.

Kaylee is One Year Old

Well, my daughter is One year old. It's a big step for a little girl. We went to the Doctor on Friday - where they was a fire evacuation - and discovered that my daughter has a big head... it is offical. Her head is greater than 97% of babies her age. I wondered why I had trouble getting her clothing over that head of hers. Now I know :)

There are pictures from her birhtday party on my flickr. Feel free to check them out. I will try to get something posted on here as well.

Life is busy here in FL, but I think the fire threat is over and it is time to head into the big FL threat these days, hurricanes. The season starts June 1. And the newspapers are lamenting how most people do not have an evacuation plan or a hurricane survial kit. Well I know which roads lead out, as do most people. And I keep a stock of water and perishable food handy, as well as back up baby supplies. I even had disposable diapers just in case. Would I say I have a hurricane survial kit, no way, that sounds like a cheesy wal mart product. Am I prepared? Absolutly. As I would wager are most intellegent people. Of course we all know there are a lot of people out there that do not fit those requirments. The media has a way of find they few who are not ready or misasking questions to make us all look like stupid fools. Jeesh.

Tired

I am tired and I think I will head to bed. Played with my BB some more today... as if I don't every day.
I think the fire issues may have died down here... thank heavens... hurricane season is close.
My daughter will be 1 year old in less than a week. It is hard to believe. Has it been that long????
We went to the pool today and got some water time in. My hubby said the water was freezing, which it was not. It was cool, but when its been 90 outside the water felt good. Had Kaylee in her new adorable Care Bears bathing suit.

Wild Fires Burn

I thought when I left Virginia that I had been through just about everything mother nature had to toss at us. Drought, flood, tornados, earthquakes, and hurricanes. I forgot about wildfires.... but in my defense they are not that common on the east coast, that I knew of anyway, certainly not in Virginia.
Florida has its share, and nothing like a lack of rain and florida heat to make that know to everyone.
Would you be able to guess the one thing that can cause me some nasty allergies???
You are right if you guessed smoke.
There is a huge fire burning a bit north of me, and the winds shifted last night and for the first time in my life I saw smog. I do not like it. I live on the 3rd floor and I could not see across the apartment complex. Traffic was horrid to get to my mom's as Interstate 95 was closed northbound right to my exit. It took twice as long to get from my place to mom's. All from smoke.
And that doesn't even touch on the sinus mess I have now. It is not fun :( I hate allergies. Scratcy eyes and throat, coughing, runny nose and eyes... ick ick ick. Not to mention the upset tummy I get.

And there are peoples who can only watch as flames move closer and closer to thier homes.

Oh, and let's not forget the so called muck fires. Apparently in Florida fire can burn under the ground.... yes, under. What is to keep that fire from jumping up and getting me??? Or anyone else for that matter.

I would rather have a hurricane... althought I say that today... I will sing a different story when the hurricanes arrive.
I told them at work I would be happier to see rain than the weekend. How sad is that.

My new Tmobile 8700g

Well I have had it for about 2 days now. I LOVE it.
My first thought when I saw the 8700 out of the box (which my hubby so wonderfully went up to our office to get for me Thanks Baby) was that is was smaller than I expected. This is a good thing. Then I saw the keys.... they seemed awfully small... maybe not a good thing.
Having typed on it alot over the past few days, the keys are perfect for me. They were not too small, and the BB fits into my hand perfectly. It is a great size.
The screen is amazing. Stuff that was ok and a little squished on the 7100t looks so much better on the 8700, kinda reminds me of going from the cheap basic tv to the nice HD widescreen we have now.
There is also no trouble seeing the screen outside as there was on the 7100t.
The 8700 is also much faster hands down than the 7100t. When my hubby gets back with it tonight I will have to get him to test load a page and see what the time difference is. I also get the EDGE network here, so I can not say how much is network and how much is phone.
I haven't played with the extra shortcut button on the side that takes you to profiles, but I bet I will be using it regularly every day to change to silent when I go to work. Its one less icon I have to worry about the location of.
I do not like the case that came with the phone, it is a hard plastic that is not very attractive. I will have to look around and see what I can get. I will also want to get screen protectors for it.
The call volume is great, I had no trouble using it as a phone. It feels more like a normal house phone next to the ear than my 7100 did.
The new TMo IM is great. You have to go into your web browser bookmarks and click on a link to download it to the phone. It now has an entry in your profile for each IM so you can select a different sound for a new message in each one. You also send a message by hitting enter - which was not the case in the IM on the 7100t and the main reason I did not use it.
Ofcourse now you can also get Google Talk and Yahoo IMs directly from RIM that work great, plus BB Messenger... this will probably put the squeeze on the 3rd party IM apps. There is less and less reason to use one of them every day.

Overall this is a great phone and I would reccomend upgrade to anyone, with the following caution - If you have big hands or fingers you might want to go to a store and try out the keyboard before spending the dough. Tmo was great to my hubby when he changed from a normal voice plan to a Blackberry Plan.
Oh and all the cords - USB, car charger, travel charger - that fit my 7100t fit my 8700 too. I still had to have seconds as we are using both BBs, but if it wasn't for that I would not need any new chargers.
I looked around for the Sidekick to compare key size, but I couldn't find it... I will have to ask the husband what he did with it.
I will add more to this as I think of it. :)

Still Breathing

I am still alive and somewhat well. Went to Disney over the weekend,... on Sunday, and that was fun.
Family is coming into town this weekend... have some much needed time off work (which can be stressfull in and of its self).

Another Thing, or maybe two

Ok, what is up with parents getting mad about a school in FL that does a lil experiment every year where some students are picked to be "Jews" and treated worse than the others to show what happened in the holocost (I am probably spelling that wrong - sorry). I can understand it might be harder for a real jewish student, and agree that maybe using something else might be a little better, but overall I think it is brilliant and would sign my lil one up in a heartbeat (she's a lil young yet). A dad was mad his kid was crying.... but that was the point. It was a horrid time and horrid things happened, crying is a good response to that. It seems to me its just a Dad that wants to throw a fit about something, and this appeared. I could be wrong, but that is my two cents.

And in TX apparently you can get arrested while still in the bar for being drunk. I am not sure what the point is other than to destroy the bar business in TX, and quite possibly the entire tourist market there. I have no plans to travel in TX and although I am not a person to go to a bar and drink, I will avoid TX just on princapal.

Still Busy - At least its Friday

Well, at least it is Friday. I am so tired today its not funny. I have not been getting enough sleep. I have troubles falling asleep and troubles staying asleep. I have my help coming at work, just another week or two and it will be much better. I will be able to work normal hours and sleep and spend time with Kaylee.

Kaylee is much better at walking. She is not to sure about the shoes yet. They force her to walk like a normal person instead of like a ballerina.

Ok, back to work :)

Sunday, March 26, 2006

Busy life

Things have been busy. I am working what feels like 80 hours a week. Not counting time with Kaylee. She is trying hard to walk. We bought her shoes today. And some clothes, even though I have more baby clothes than I need.
Hubby's. Family is coming in 2 weeks. Won't slow down then either. I am hoping work wil slow down soon.

Tuesday, March 21, 2006

Off to bed

I stayed home today as Kaylee and I were a little under the weather. I think I am starting to feel better and about to start on a good nights sleep to make sure tomorrow is better.

Kaylee keeps grabbing an ear sometimes, which makes me wonder what is wrong with it. I hope she did not get my ear infections. I don't think mine started that young though.

She is working hard on walking. And I discovered that if I give her a water bottle that I am drinking from, the sports ones with the sippy spout, she will drink water. She will not take it from a bottle though. Maybe it is a good thing, who knows.

Well I am feeling tired, even after napping when Kaylee did today. Sure sign I am not at 100%.
Sweet dreams to all.

Monday, March 20, 2006

Been Busy

Well, its been very busy around here. Trying to get things set up at work, Kaylee is trying to walk, and still trying to keep the house up and running... laundry and dishes and grocries.

Kaylee is much better at walking. She still needs help to keep herself upright, but she is much more stable now than she was. She still refuses to crawl, but she will roll over and over to get where she wants to go.

Zander is not sure what to think of all this.

Kaylee is trying to walk

Kaylee is trying to walk. She holds on to something, mostly our hands. She keeps stepping on her own feet. She can stand on her own if she tries. She also falls down sometimes. It is interesting. She wants to try walking and standing up all the time. I had to stop taking her shirt off by pulling it over both hands at once. She uses that to launch herself to standing.
We shall see how long it is before she is walking on her own completly.

RIM and NTP

So its settled. I am glad its over and heartbroken that NTP got money from RIM for patents that have been tossed. I am glad there are no royalties involved and that it is a one time pay out deal. But still NTP should have been kicked out on the street penniless. How can the legal system allow it? It would be one thing if the patent office upheld the patents in question. I might have not liked it but I would have had to agree. However, that is not what happened. The judge should be law bound to see the new evidence and go, oh, the patents are not valid, well, NTP has no case. Appeals or not, justice was not served, she was completly and utterly denied. To me it is sad and another example of the messed up legal system we have in the USA. Like a woman sueing over hot coffee. Well ofcourse the coffee is hot, that is what makes it coffee. There are people out there who make carrers out of sueing other companies and people. That is the only way they get money. It is 100% craziness that should not be allowed.
People are afraid to do things at times because they might get sued for crazy amounts of money. Doctors are afraid to practice, teachers to teach, heck, even cooks to cook.

Of course speaking of teachers, there is the one that has gotten a lot of attention for compairing President Bush to Hitler. He is entitled to his opinion, but the rant (and I head a large part of the recording and rant is the best word to describe it) he should have had better discretion about what he says in his classroom during his class. The kids couldn't leave, they were forced to listen and they were very radical views. It would have been different if it had been an after school gathering students chose to attend. Not to mention what did it all have to do with World Geography?

Anyhow, I am going to get back to watching my tv from this week. It has been crazy mad busy all week at home and work.

Crazy Mel

So I look and see on my blog last update 2/26. I am thinking - What?! No Way! I know I updated it last weekend with picture rankings. I know it, what is wrong here..... of course then I remember that today is only March 4th. Gotta love those stupid jolts you have when you forget the obvious, or miss it all together.

Oh my

I had no idea until today that the man who plays House on House is British. Listening to him with his accent, I was amazed. And he seems so polite and nice, and walked without a limp. I know its a TV Show, but it was a bit of a shock to me.

I finally made it to Friday

I made it to Friday... however now I am feeling like poo. My head is killing me and my tummy is unhappy. **sigh**

Hope everyone else's weekend is going better. I don't want to be sick, but at least if it is over the weekend I will not miss work.

So Blackberry did not stop today. I don't think NTP should get a penny as thier patents have been tossed.

Kaylee is sleeping... I will have to wake her soon to put on her PJs and give her the nighttime bottle.

And whats worse most everything on TV is a repeat. I would like a new show or two please TV peoples.

Almost the weekend

Well, the weekend is almost here and I am ready. I have to go into work early in the AM, so I need to get to bed, but I wanted to drop a line. I am hoping things at work will settle down a lil and I will have more time for the other things in life, like my blog.
And I need to take more pictures of Kaylee. I have been so naughty on that count. Apparently she has become very good at moving around in the walker at my Mom's, where there are mostly tile floors. Mom swears Kaylee has more than two hands with all the stuff she can get into. It is Kaylee's first taste at being self mobile.
I still love my BB. I have a cool Jedi theme. It rocks.

There was something else.. what was it?

Oh, tomorrow, is Friday and it may be Blackberry DDay. We will see what the judge says. We are drawing to that moment, so better make any bets that you will. LOL. I hope NTP gets nothing. But that is just me. I certainly hope there is not an inturrruption in BB service. I will be distraut without my BB there to answer my every beck and call.

BTW - Apparently there was a new show on the Public Schools in the USA. I heard snippets from The Hideout on Real Radio tonight. They were talking about how bad USA schools came out. And something about children scoring worst on as they got older and farther into the school system. Children did not know what caused the Civil War, or what the Bill of Rights was for. What is the world coming to?!?!? These are important basic facts that I think everyone should know. I am no expert on legal issues or the Civil War (as much as possible when you were raised outside of Richmond, VA) but I know the answers to those questions without even thinking about it. This seems to be another brick to support home schooling Kaylee. Not sure where we will pick up the time from. I am sure we will figure something out.

On this less than positive note I have to log off and get to bed. Hope everyone is having a wonderful night.

Until next time....

Phhhh

I have lots of movies, a cool new HD Widescreen TV and a nifty suround sound system. Yet I can not seem to find anything I really want to watch at the moment... go figure. I even have lots of TV channels, some in HD and widescreen. Sigh....

New Kaylee Pictures

I have been bad about taking pictures this month. I have only a few.. I must get some more ASAP. Here is Kaylee in the playpen:
Hello Mom
and through the mesh:

There are no changes to the actual Rankings of my Flickr pictures. The number of views have increased a little, but the order it all the same. If anyone was curious.

Busy life

Life gas been super busy and it is not slowing down. My new job takes a lot of time and energy. As does kaylee. I think she might have called me mama today. She has taken a few steps too.

Sleeping Troubles

Why is it, when it is time for bed, I am not tired. On the way back home tonight from a friend's I could barly stay awake... even with Kaylee fussing the whole time. I get back here and suddenly I am not tired. And I have to get up in the AM too, Kaylee has her 9 month check up in the AM. Why does this always seem to happen when I have to get up? Do I dislike getting up in the AM that much? Its almost 1 am :(
Well, I better try to get some shut eye. At least I should be able to nap after the DR. Of course I don't have to get all dressed up to go. I might roll out of bed and take Kaylee and then shower when I get home. It will be cold anyhow, so a baggy warm top and a baseball cap wouldn't be all that out of place......

Cool place for Blackberry users

Pinstack

Great place for info. I spend a lot of time here when I am online. It is how I learned to upgrade to OS 4.1 which I love by the way.

New TV

We got a widescreen hd TV yesterday. The picture is so much better. I can't believe it. MY movies look awsome :)

Kaylee is good, much bigger, has all her front teeth.

I have been crazy busy with my new job at work and keeping up with things at home.

More Superbowl Ads

Alright... The car ad (Dad & Kid talking about the hybrid) was not all that great as far as SuperBowl ads go. Could have done without.

Fed Ex (cave man trying to ship a stick via bird which is eaten by a T Rex) made my hubby laugh. The effects were neat... not as good as the Bud ads though.

The Bear Bud Lite ( 2 guys running from a bear & the bear stops when a Bud is opened until guy #2 steals it and runs away)... that really made my husband laugh...He thought it was great... I thought it was not as great as the fridge ad, but still very good....

So far I would say that Bud is in the lead for Best SuperBowl Ad.

Ok, the Rapper Diet Pepsi I though was a bad bad ad. The V movie looks pretty interesting though.

Bud & BK

Ok the Bud Light (I think) ad where they hid beers in the office was awsome...
The BK ad was strange, but the end was funny... bringing a new meaning to Whopper :)

Ok,... the magic revolving fridge bud light ad was amazing. I loved that one. :) Let's hope we get some more winners.

Ads so far

As for the Ads so far... not impressed... the sports drinks ads did not impress me and the rest I have seen... maybe they will get better.... or maybe I am wasting my time.

SuperBowl Start up

Ok.... until now I had a lot of respect for both Dr Suess and Harrison Ford. If you look at my diaper pictues you can see I think Dr Suess is great.
When they started the whole Dr Suess thing I was nervous, but I thought, look its Harrison Ford, it has to be good. I kept expecting some great point to tell kids out there something great.....
I was very disapointed. I can't help but wonder how anyone was able to make such a mokery of Dr Suess on national TV. :(
Not to mention that earring... what was Harrison Ford thinking?

Playing on the PC

Well a couple things today.
#1 I made my first blackberry theme
lastscan
You can check it out on pinstack too :)
Right Here
It took a lot of time and poof there it is

#2 I have my new blue tooth wireless mouse and keyboard. So far so good. I like the feel ofthem both. We had some problems with mine. My USB ports act up every now and then, and of course it did yesterday. We got it all under control and I was able to make my BB theme. If anyone is curious it is a Logitech MX5000. I did not do any of the intial set up, my hubby did, he wanted to surprise me. It does not see Yahoo Music as a music/media player. It does see Media Player and ITunes tho. Not a huge deal as you can just direct it to the yahoo player manually. I have yet to find out how to use the blue tooth to sync my BB. Give me a little more time to play with it and I will let you know what I think of it.

Saturday Afternoon

Well, Kaylee was scared by the thunder today. It was kinda of funny until she started crying.

I have my new keyboard - logitech, blue tooth... and it is acting up bad today. Was working fine until I restarted my pc. But I think the problem is not the keyboard but something on my pc. I think we might have it fixed finally. We shall see...

Double Standards

So, its Tax Return Time. Out come the W2s which bring up how much $$ my hubby and I each make. We both know I make the most out of the two of us, and its not a small difference. But this time of year when he might see it in print seems to be the worst.

My feelings are yes, I make more, but I am also gone more - I work further away and tend to put in more than 40 hours a week. He takes care of Kaylee more during the week and does a lot around the apartment as he has more time. I think its a fair trade. He doesn't. He doesn't like me paying his bills, or paying for stuff when we are out, or covering the larger part of the rent. I get away with it more now than I used to, we have a joint checking account and I can sneak extra money in without him knowing.

If I made less and did more at home it would be ok. However it doesn't work that way for him. Its that man must be the bread winner mentality. And it sucks.
I am a woman, but that doesn't make me less of a person... or vise versa. He is a great husband and father, and part of that is because he is home more during the week than I am.
And the worst part... I feel guilty about it all.
Evil social standards.....

The rest of the weekend

Well, when we did get back out on the coast we went to Denny's in Merrit Island. That was a mistake. They screwed up the order really bad,... and the waitress did not even realize. She got my bacon wrong.. which isnt too bad. But my husband ordered a dinner and was served a breakfast. The waitress did not even realize it, even though she took the order.

We picked up Kaylee at Mom's at 2am, came home and went to bed.

Today we went to Target and got food, and clothes, and a few other household items.
We have been cleaning a little, doing lots of laundry, and watching some TV the rest of the day.

Kaylee had some finger food, some little pastas and diced green beans. She had a grand old time with that. Made a bit of a mess... but that is ok, its bath night.

I have OS 4.1 on my Blackberry and I love it so far. There was something else on the BB side, but I can not recall it.

And the new diapers... Magicall is fine, just do not like the snaps. Bumgenuis is a great diaper. Wallypop is great too.

I survived . .

At least the truck show. Now let's are if we can get out of the parking lot. The whole thing was ok. I liked the monsters from 104.1. The trucks were ok. I wasn't overly impressed. The tickets for next year go on sale at midnight. I am going to guess my hubby will want some. I am going to avoid it if I can. Huge crowd wasn't worth it.
Now my hubby agreed to go to the theater or such with me. Where should I take him?

Almost time

Its almost time. The big TV got messed up tho. Monsters in the morning are here. Drunky was in his bear costume.

Now up

Now we are seeing the demo derby mini vans. My hubby is upset they are acting like this is something new. Apparently it is not in Iowa. We saw some cars rub around in circles and some little toy cars earlier. There is a mini van with a beer keg on top what is wrong with people? Beer and cars is bad. The woman in the mini van won neat in show.

Now we are sitting

We are now setting in our seats. We are a little closer than I might like. They have the front rows covered in plastic and we are only the 4th row back from the plastic. Makes me a little nervous. We will have to are what happens. There is a drunk behind us and kids in front. My husband is trying to explain all this truck stuff to me. This place is very big. We have a lot time left before it starts. It better be amazing.

Waiting in line

Well we are waiting in line at the gate. Not a lot of fun. The pit stuff was not much fun. Some big trucks. Lots of people, lines and beer. No girly drinks tho. I could use a drink right now. **sigh**

No Clue

I have no idea what happened last night. I have not seen anything on the news about it. Maybe it was a false alarm.

I have my BumGenuis. Used it once, so far I am liking it...the strechy tabs are cool. My hubby thinks the one size insert seems awful long. Still waiting on my MagicAll. Was hoping it would be here today, but it wasn't so I will have to wait until Monday :(

Watched last night's Monk and Thursday's CSI. They were great. We are having issues with our DVR box and it only recorded 1 minute of Atlantis and mised about 20m of John Doe. I was sad. :(

Kaylee is good.... and she is getting another top tooth... one in the middle.. finally. Shortly I will trade in vampire baby for a normal looking baby.

Something is Not Right

I left work late tonight and I hit 95 at Palm Bay Rd around 9:30 to see about 6 cop cars flying south. I lost count how many I saw overall... what worries me is that one wasn't a cop car, but the bomb truck, with the trailer in tow they sometime put a bomb in. What is South of Palm Bay Rd that would have a bomb at 9:30pm??? There had to be atleast 15- maybe 20 different emergency vehicles flying south. It was too dark to tell what they were - County, State, or Local - they had Blue flashing lights both in front and back and flashing headlights. One Bomb truck and one that was possible an ambulance. I dunno what is up....

Kaylee today

Ready To Go

Here is Kaylee today. She is waiting on me to get finished and head off to Grandma's house.

New Most Viewed on Flickr

A new picture has taken the top spot on my most viewed Flickr pictures.... and what beats out cute babies, sharks, and me????

A Puppy... with 48 views over the shark with 31 views and prego me with 22, Zander is #4 at 22, and Kaylee comes in at #5 with 21 views. Should I be worried??

There are way too many cute baby pictures on there for that.... like this one

or this lovely picture of my hubby himself

I will try to get a picture of Kaylee in her Wallypop diaper for those who would like to see it. I should have a Magicall and BumGenius coming here in the next day or two as well. Both from Abby's Lane http://www.abbyslane.com/
I can't wait.
