Friday Night

Well, its late, I am tired. Wanted to write something, I have been so busy lately. Check out my Flickr photos to see us at Star Wars Weekends. It was great :)

Also - on pinstacks, a great review I wrote :) about Berry Pix 2.0, which is a great app (and no they are not paying me for this). It makes showing photos via the BB a breeze. It makes me look so cool. Check it out, click on the Pinstack link.

Kaylee is One Year Old

Well, my daughter is One year old. It's a big step for a little girl. We went to the Doctor on Friday - where they was a fire evacuation - and discovered that my daughter has a big head... it is offical. Her head is greater than 97% of babies her age. I wondered why I had trouble getting her clothing over that head of hers. Now I know :)

There are pictures from her birhtday party on my flickr. Feel free to check them out. I will try to get something posted on here as well.

Life is busy here in FL, but I think the fire threat is over and it is time to head into the big FL threat these days, hurricanes. The season starts June 1. And the newspapers are lamenting how most people do not have an evacuation plan or a hurricane survial kit. Well I know which roads lead out, as do most people. And I keep a stock of water and perishable food handy, as well as back up baby supplies. I even had disposable diapers just in case. Would I say I have a hurricane survial kit, no way, that sounds like a cheesy wal mart product. Am I prepared? Absolutly. As I would wager are most intellegent people. Of course we all know there are a lot of people out there that do not fit those requirments. The media has a way of find they few who are not ready or misasking questions to make us all look like stupid fools. Jeesh.

Tired

I am tired and I think I will head to bed. Played with my BB some more today... as if I don't every day.
I think the fire issues may have died down here... thank heavens... hurricane season is close.
My daughter will be 1 year old in less than a week. It is hard to believe. Has it been that long????
We went to the pool today and got some water time in. My hubby said the water was freezing, which it was not. It was cool, but when its been 90 outside the water felt good. Had Kaylee in her new adorable Care Bears bathing suit.

Wild Fires Burn

I thought when I left Virginia that I had been through just about everything mother nature had to toss at us. Drought, flood, tornados, earthquakes, and hurricanes. I forgot about wildfires.... but in my defense they are not that common on the east coast, that I knew of anyway, certainly not in Virginia.
Florida has its share, and nothing like a lack of rain and florida heat to make that know to everyone.
Would you be able to guess the one thing that can cause me some nasty allergies???
You are right if you guessed smoke.
There is a huge fire burning a bit north of me, and the winds shifted last night and for the first time in my life I saw smog. I do not like it. I live on the 3rd floor and I could not see across the apartment complex. Traffic was horrid to get to my mom's as Interstate 95 was closed northbound right to my exit. It took twice as long to get from my place to mom's. All from smoke.
And that doesn't even touch on the sinus mess I have now. It is not fun :( I hate allergies. Scratcy eyes and throat, coughing, runny nose and eyes... ick ick ick. Not to mention the upset tummy I get.

And there are peoples who can only watch as flames move closer and closer to thier homes.

Oh, and let's not forget the so called muck fires. Apparently in Florida fire can burn under the ground.... yes, under. What is to keep that fire from jumping up and getting me??? Or anyone else for that matter.

I would rather have a hurricane... althought I say that today... I will sing a different story when the hurricanes arrive.
I told them at work I would be happier to see rain than the weekend. How sad is that.
